Owing to the elegance and flamboyance of these fabrics, they have broken into the world fashion scene with celebrities like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and a whole number of others caught spotting designs made from African fabrics at one time or the other. WHY DO I LIKE AFRICAN PRINTS?
I love African prints for a number of reasons, but the standout for me will be the usefulness of the fabrics.
African prints can be styled in a plethora of ways. These popular styles range from kente to Ankara and Dashki. More so, African prints can be designed in different ways.
The Ankara fabric is used to make a growing number of items, such as bags, shoes, bow ties, dresses, jewellery and purses just to name but a few.
I have immense love for the African fabrics. The colours, the designs are just too beautiful to behold.
Having grown up In an environment and home where African fabric were the normal wears, it is normal that I have so much love for these beautiful fabrics because I could virtually do so many things with it.
The African fabrics have impacted the west African economy in a lot of ways.it has metamorphosised from the traditional African way to a glamorous must-have wardrobe item and has now shone a new spotlight on the African continent.
It has also led to a monumental change in the way Africa is percieved in general. And more importantly, African fabrics are making headway in the fashion industry.
