The two German Archaeologists that were kidnapped in Kagargo Local Government area of Kaduna State in Northeastern region of Nigeria have been freed according to police sources.
The Germa Archaeologists identified as Peter Breunig and Johannes Behringer were reportedly abducted while studying Nok Art in the Jenjele Village area of Kagargo. They were however released on saturday night with the police claiming that no ransom was paid to the abductors.
According to a senior police officer who is detailed about the case, investigations are on in trying to bring the kidnappers to book He told reporters: “Investigations are very much on, and we believe we will get them (the kidnappers),”
The kidnappers were reported to have demanded a ransom of 60 million for the release of the kidnapped Germans, but the police instead opted to deploy machinery and special forces to secure the release of the two men.
