Deported Nigerians have somehow become a common sight these days but to have another African country deport Nigerians is an entirely different matter. The government of the Republic of South Africa has now deported 97 Nigerians for reportedly committing different offences.
A chartered aircraft with registration number GBB710 bore the deportees from Johannesburg to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria.
A spokesman for the command of the Lagos Airport Police, DSP Joseph Alabi confirmed the story to newsmen. The deported Nigerians are reportedly consisted of 95 males and 2 females.
This latest development might cause further frictions between the Nigerian and South-African Government after the recent xenophobic attacks that affected a lot of Nigerians.
